Q & A

General:

Why is writing important to you?

  •  I am interested in addressing prominent cultural, religious, and mythical assumptions and speculations with the question, 'If this (e.g., magic) were real, what else would have to be true about our world?'.
  • As a former research scientist, digging into the literature to understand a question is second nature, and intellectual discoveries are the reward.
  • It is important to me to share the outcomes of my explorations in the form of a compelling story built around a primary myth and the nature of the world which defines it.

Do you believe there is a factual basis to mythology? Yes, for much of it.

Do you believe humanity could have been seeded on Earth by extraterrestrials?

The fundamental problem with an extraterrestrial origin for life is the incredible distance between Earth and any habitable planets. Travel at speeds any more than 10% of the speed of light is unlikely.  So, some high hurdles would have to have been crossed for there to have been an extraterrestrial origin of mankind.

Enoch's Thread

What is the title's significance?

The title is a play on the multiple connections of the name 'Enoch'. It is the thread running through The Book of Enoch, Enochian magic, and The Order of Enoch of the LDS church.

Is magic real?

For magic to exist it would have to have significant constraints, otherwise our reality would be observably fluid.

What defines a conspiracy theory?

The absence of a complete set of facts allows one to fill in the gaps according to whim. The information a good conspiracy theory uses to fill those gaps, has no discernible contradictions with known facts.

Photobomb  (A short story in The Literary Hatchet #40 Autumn 2025)

What do you hope readers take away from Photobomb?

To be touched by magic, one must first believe.

The Premise (preparing for submission)

What is the title's significance?

The Premise Group is a clandestine organization operating from the premise that all mythology has reality-based origins.

What do you hope readers take away from The Premise?

An appreciation of how deeply the modern day is rooted in the past, and that today's villains come from long lineages of villainhood.

Future Testament (in draft)

What is the book about?  The prophesized apocalypse has arrived. Humanity must flee Earth. The Fallen Angels have other ideas.

This is the final book in the John Aubrey Trilogy. While saving mankind from the incipient apocalypse, the immortal Count St. Germain takes the reader through a series of historical vignettes, each reaching farther back in time until the cause and solution of the coming apocalypse is revealed.

What is the title's significance? It's a working title, subject to change.

What do you hope readers take away from Future Testament?  The enjoyment of a satisfying read. Not only from the resolution of the opening dire crisis, but also from learning the answers to previously unanswered foundational questions of the first two books. Specifically, St. Germain provides answers to the apparent contradiction between an extraterrestrial origin of humanity and the existing fossil record, to the origin of occult access, the real story of the 'Biblical Flood', the story underlying earth's mythological heritage and the cause of the coming apocalypse.
